Kettler elliptical trainers are made by the German firm of the same name and they're just what you'd expect from German engineering - superb quality, excellent action and very, very well made.
Kettler began making fitness equipment back in 1949 and now export all over the world. They've been an established brand in the UK for many years and more recently have been growing in popularity in the US.
They've got a good range of elliptical trainers starting at around £350 going up to a £1,000. All their models have a very smooth action thanks to their superior 'bearing technology'.
In our view the lower end of their range whilst being top quality machines don't offer much in programmes and features - although you can design your own. However, once you get to their mid to upper range models, such the Mondeo ST, they're really hard to beat!
All models come with a very respectable 3 year parts and labour warranty.

Our view - a top quality machine with an excellent smooth action. The fitness and recovery tests will help you measure your progress which will keep you motivated. However, if you like pre-set programmes it does lack the choice other brands offer at this price (but without the quality). If you want pre-set training programmes see the Mondeo ST below.

Our view - an ultra smooth action thanks to a combination of a 22kg flywheel and innovative pendulum bearing technology. Not sure exactly what all that means technically but as far as we're concerned it delivered one of the smoothest rides we've ever had! It doesn't have the same number of features as other machines in this price range but it stands head and shoulders above them when it comes to quality. A simply superb machine which is impossible to ignore - it'll get you fit in no time!
