Proform 695 Elliptical Trainer Review

We have not yet had the opportunity to properly review the , but hope to be able to very soon.

The Proform 695 elliptical trainer is one of the cheapest folding trainers on the market and has quite a few other features to tip the balance in its favour compared to its rivals.

One of the most noteable is the port and built-in sound system for your iPod or MP3 player. This is a useful feature if you don’t like to train with earphones, the speakers had a pretty good sound and with the right music you can really get a good workout.

Well that’s enough about the entertainment, what about the training? The Proform 695 comes with 8 workouts although it’s a shame it doesn’t have iFit Trainer software as some other Proform trainers. However, the ones included should be challenging and varied enough to keep you coming back.

The heart rate programmes keep your training at a rate to keep your pulse going at predetermined rates to ensure optimum fat-burning or fitness enhancement workouts. You can use the pulse sensors on the console handles, although this is not too accurate plus you have to take your hands off the training handles.

A much better option is to use a chest strap (not included) that’s compatible with the built-in chip in the trainer. A chest strap is much more accurate as it actually measures your heart, plus you can continue to trainer your arms because you don’t have to take them off to use the hand sensors.

It has a good stride length, we made it about 16 inches, which was smooth and faily quiet. The 10 resistance levels can be selected quickly via the console or automatically by the pre-set programmes. You can select low levels for aerobic sessions or higher levels to build strength and muscle tone.

From our experience of working with many clients knowing this information can help when you’re getting tired. To see how many calories you’ve burnt and how far you’ve gone can inspire you to keep going to the end of your programme.

Our score : 8.5 ( out of 10 ) Some great features to keep you training and excellent value for money.

Review Summary - In Brief

The Practical Info The foldable Proform 695 trainer This is a foldable trainer, see right, and also quite light compared to other folding machines. If space is a little tight you can reduce its length and easily slide it away out of sight. The folding mechanism is well-designed so it was easy to operate. Moving the machine around is pretty straight forward thanks to the built-in transport wheels fitted at the front and its light weight, it can be moved either folded or fully extended. Ease of portability can be a major factor in choosing a trainer because if you're not feeling too motivated to train, the thought of struggling to get your trainer into place may be enough to put you off! If it's easy you've got no excuse :0)
